It only took my husband about 15 minutes to removed our old smaller pump and install the new one. Works wonderful! It really moves the water in our 16 foot ultra frame pool. If you are thinking of upgrading from the 1500 gallon pump I would recommend the 2500 gallon pump. The 1500gph did an OK job, the filters were pretty easy to find at Walmart or Menards but the positives never really made up for the negatives. My original unit was noisy even from when it was new. The filters seemed to get dirty very quickly and it put out a fair amount of water but nowhere near the amount that the new pump pushes out. I was surprised when I opened the box that the filter on this unit us HUGE! Should do a much better job than the puny A filters that the standards pumps use.
