The having stainless steel pot is probably the best thing I could say about it. I found that it cooks brown rice almost twice as long as my old Japanese brand non-stick rice cooker. I was quite disappointed also because it's not one of those leave it and go after you press "cook rice", and where I could leave it there on "warm" for a couple of days without the rice burning at the bottom or hardening. That's not the case with this rice cooker. But I learned to adapt to this cooker. I cook it at least 2 hours before my meal. I cannot leave the cooked rice on warm all day, otherwise it will really stick to the bottom. I turn it off completely and I have to mix the rice after a few minutes to get the slightly toasted bottom to blend with the softer rice in the middle, then it evens out more in texture. The only drawback for me is that it is challenging to cook just one cup of rice which creates a very thin layer on the bottom; manufacturer recommends that 2cups is the minimum amount to cook for this rice cooker to get it right. It is fool-proof on 2 or more cups of rice. Still I give it five stars as I am not aware of any other rice cooker that is as healthy and non-toxic as this one.
